Even though Oscar and Sandy’s last trip in 2011 to Tractor Supply in Asheboro, NC started with a very rainy day, Saturday and Sunday brought back some “old” friends, as well as some new ones! They really enjoyed the love and attention of those moments in time! The ponies enjoyed the great family fun they were able to share with everyone!

What a great blessing we received to spend time with the students and staff at Rock Springs Academy, grades K4 - 6th, in Milner,Georgia! Miss Lee, the school director, really got close to Sandy and enjoyed “kissing the camel” for the students’ enjoyment! Thanks, Miss Lee for the love you showed us all. Meeting these new friends and being a part of the Hallelujah Night Event at Rock Springs Church will be a fond memory for Oscar, Sandy, and the whole crew for many years to come.

Campbell University Camels 2011

Niles took “center stage” for the Campbell University Camels at the 2011 Homecoming parade and events! He had fun with the “Camel Kissing” Professor and posing with the Homecoming Queen. Oscar did the riding event, so both camels were involved in the Homecoming activities! Maybe having the mascot there helped a little in the great victory!camel1

Hi there!

Sheik David!

Sheik David!

Hi there!

Hi there!

Hale, David, Sheik of Power, demonstrates his “Look mom, no hands!” policy.

Oscar, Sandy, the ponies, and even all the animals in Animal Encounter had a “wet and wonderful” weekend with the affectionate attendants and attendees of the Dinwiddie County Fair in Petersburg, Virginia. There was definitely a spark that developed between Oscar and some of his riders!

After hearing about the “Sheik of Power”, one young man even dressed the part to be “home schooled in the art of Camel Riding!”

Havin' fun!

Havin' fun!

Oscar, Sandy and the ponies met many new friends at Tractor Supply in Oak Ridge! Wow, it was hot, but remember if the camels lived in their natural environment, it would be much hotter than what we have here in NC. Our animals just love the attention people give them and of course, they love to have their pictures made!!

Good times!

Wow! What an adventure for Oscar and Sandy to remember at Big Lick Farm Days Festival in Oakboro, NC! As you can see from these photos (besides enjoying the camel rides, pony rides, and Animal Encounter) Oscar and Ted shared many laughs and it even looks like a few secrets or cheek kisses!! Our animals loved the barn and having a warm shelter out of the rain was an answer to prayer during the storm.

On the move

On the move

Oscar, Sandy and pony family members met some old and new friends at Tractor Supply in Asheboro this weekend. Some people drove a long way to get a chance to ride, but the rain was on its way, and we could not stay. We will be back next month!
