Havin' fun!

Havin' fun!

Oscar, Sandy and the ponies met many new friends at Tractor Supply in Oak Ridge! Wow, it was hot, but remember if the camels lived in their natural environment, it would be much hotter than what we have here in NC. Our animals just love the attention people give them and of course, they love to have their pictures made!!

Big Lick Farm Days Festival in Oakboro, NC

Good times!

Wow! What an adventure for Oscar and Sandy to remember at Big Lick Farm Days Festival in Oakboro, NC! As you can see from these photos (besides enjoying the camel rides, pony rides, and Animal Encounter) Oscar and Ted shared many laughs and it even looks like a few secrets or cheek kisses!! Our animals loved the barn and having a warm shelter out of the rain was an answer to prayer during the storm.

Oscar, Sandy and pony family members met some old and new friends at Tractor Supply in Asheboro this weekend. Some people drove a long way to get a chance to ride, but the rain was on its way, and we could not stay. We will be back next month!

Hi there!

Hi there!

Oscar, Sandy and Darrell had a great time during March 18 - 26, 2011 at Macon Georgia’s International Cherry Blossom Festival! Pink may now be Sandy’s favorite color! Even though it rained heavily and the festival had to close earlier than planned, they met new, exciting people and made many new friends. One night Oscar even gave the local newspaper man a “kiss on the cheek” and helped the TV weatherman deliver the live weather forecast! Oscar loves attention and making fond memories! What will he do next?

Night of All Nights Gala in Wilmington, Delaware

January 3rd, 2011 by admin

Oscar and Sandy were pleased to have their best friend, Niles, to join them for their trip to Wilmington, Delaware. The Delaware Symphony Orchestra Gala was certainly well titled, The Night of All Nights, in which they shared their musical expertise on selections associated with 1,001 Arabian Nights. The highlight of the event for Oscar was to provide the entrance ride into The Chase Center on the Riverfront, through 15,000 guests, up to the center stage for the president of INGDIRECT, the presenting sponsor. We are proud of you, Oscar!

Oscar, Niles (camels), Matthew, Mark (Sicilian donkeys), Dana and all the other sheep, and James (calf) had a wonderful time meeting people and being treated so well at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Living Nativity in Jacksonville, NC. We were ALL really excited to be part of presenting the gospel to so many people! Merry Christmas from Carolina Camel Rides!

Wait...she's taller than the camels!

Oscar and Sandy had a great time at The Dixie Classic Fair meeting new and entertaining riders, performers, and people to pet them. They also found that they needed to grow a few more inches to catch up with some of their new friends!

You go girl!

You go girl!

The God’s Pitt Crew Fund Fest in Danville, VA was quite an event for Oscar and Carolina Camel Rides. Many times we have told people, that questioned if camel rides were just for kids, that our oldest rider so far was a lady that was 84 years old. Well, that record was broken by our new friend, Ora Hodge, at this event. She is a graceful lady of 94 years! Congratulations Ora for being our new record holder!
